The Selfridges Summer Beauty Box 2016 – Love it!

Hi guys! I’m super excited to finally get my hands on this years Summer Beauty Box from Selfridges and as you can see, it contains some cult favourites such as Clarins, Stila and Dermalogica.  I thought, all this for £35? And it’s the combined value of £159? It’d be rude not to have it.

As you may already know, beauty boxes launched in the UK a few years ago and the concept is simple- You sign up and receive a gorgeous package of new and exciting beauty samples each month. I hadn’t subscribed to one as I kept thinking to myself – what if I don’t like some of the products or, what if they don’t suit my skintype or skin colour?

Luckily with this one, I saw what the products were and I knew exactly what I was getting, and I also didn’t need to subscribe to get this. So, without delay let’s take a look at the goodies….

First up is this bag by which I absolutely adore and it was one of the reasons I wanted this kit. It’s 100% cotton and it’s big enough to store all my toiletries for my travels. And also, who doesn’t like a bit of Shakespeare.

Mini Beautyblender – I really wanted one of these for a while but these blenders can be pricey depending on the make, and I sometimes kept thinking – “how much for a piece of sponge!?” So I was happy that this came with it so I can give it a try and I know right now, these are everywhere and are popular right for contouring and highlighting. This also came with a small packet of cleansing gel to clean the blender 🙂

Stila Lipglaze in Sugar – I love Stila products and previously had this lipglaze in another colour. This contains Vitamin E so your lips stay soft and it smells gorgeous like sweets. This colour is clear with a teeny tiny bit of shimmer so it’s perfect for everyday use and it doesn’t have that strong sticky-feel (I have it on as we speak).

FAB (First Aid Beauty) Vitamin Hydrating Mist – I LOVE hydrating mists and face sprays as my face always needs a bit of a boost throughout the day. I find them really refreshing on the skin, especially on hot days and you can use them under or over your make-up. I ALWAYS carry a bottle with me in my bag and I used mine a lot whilst on holiday in Malta (check out my holiday blog in Malta). I am currently using the Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray which was pretty much my skins lifesaver. So, I am hoping this FAB spray will be just as good and it’s also in a good travel size.

Clarins Smoothing Body Cream – I already have a couple of Clarins face creams so this makes a nice addition. I am due a nice luxurious body cream as my skin always feels a little bit dry after a holiday abroad. This has a nice citrus smell, quite uplifting actually, and is in a 100ml bottle.

Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Balm – I have never heard of this brand until now and I must admit, when I first saw this it reminded of a cough medicine or something medicinal. BUT when I opened it the citrus, orange smell is divine. This hydrating balm is perfect for holiday skin and I kinda wished I had this for whilst I as away as it doesn’t leave a greasy residue and comes in a handy 50ml bottle, perfect to pop in your bag when travelling.

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black – I can never ever have too many liquid eyeliners and this nibbed-pen is perfect for me. It’s waterproof, lash-enhancing and it’s the perfect size to fit in my makeup bag, what more could I ask for?  I go through so many liquid eyeliners it’s a staple for me.

ZOEVA 228 Luxe Crease eye brush – This is my first ZOEVA product and this reminds me of the MAC 217 blending brush. ZOEVA is a German makeup brand and I really like the luxury feel of their range especially the different palettes. You can never have too many makeup brushes and this one has soft hairs which won’t give you the scratchy feel on the eyes like some brushes do. It also came in a black ZOEVA pouch which is perfect for carrying other makeup brushes around in.

Dermalogica SPF 50 Sport – I swear by SPF 50 and use it daily even on cloudy days. I’ve never used Dermalogica products before so I’ll be looking forward to trying this one out. It’s come in a really handy travel size, 22ml.

MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask – I love that sheet masks are becoming more and more available in the UK now as in Asia, sheet masks have been around for years and I absolutely love them! I have only purchased my sheet masks abroad in Asia as they’re so popular and they don’t dry my skin out like some face masks do over here. I know they make you look ridiculous whilst you have them on, but the results are worth it. This MaskerAide Weather Warrior mask claims to “Calm, Soothe & Heal” with no Parabens added. It contains Aloe, Green Tea, Witch Hazel and Argan Oil, so half the ingredients I already drink which is a plus for me (Aloe and Green Tea that is).

Tangle Teezer Original Brush – I already have this and they are a lifesaver for post-shower as in the past, I used to rip half my scalp off using normal brushes and they would make the knots in my hair even knottier. I don’t feel like I lose as much hair with these TT’s, if you don’t already have this I would recommend it.

Philip Kingsley Citrus Sunshine Swimcap – For all you swimmers out there this is most likely to be a must-have fro you guys. I have never heard nor used a product like this before and again, this would have been handy for me whilst I was on holiday as my hair felt a little frazzled from the sun and sea. I really like the luxury look and feel to this and without actually reading what it says on it, I wouldn’t have thought this was a hair product? It contains SPF and smells citrusy. Since I am back in the UK, the only place I’ll be swimming is in my gym pool so this will protect my hair from the chlorine.

So overall I’m really happy with this beauty box as the products ARE perfect for the Summer, perfect for an upcoming holiday or a city break. It would make a great birthday gift (of a gift to yourself because you want it).

I hope you enjoyed reading this, comments are welcome and I would love to know what you guys think of beauty boxes, and which ones you would recommend 🙂

Lots of Love Heather xxx
