New Skin Saviours

New Skin Saviours

Hi everyone! I did a beauty haul recently to prepare for my travels in a weeks’ time, I got to select some samples to try out which is always a bonus. I love samples as it’s the perfect way to try-before-you-buy, that way you don’t end up buying it in full size and realise it isn’t suitable for you or you don’t like it.

Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb Mask – If you have read my previous blogs then you know I am obsessed with face masks. I picked this up in Boots (UK drugstore) as it was only 99p!! It felt rude not to purchase it! The RRP is £1.49 so it may be on a promotional offer. I have always loved Garnier skincare range as their products are such good quality and affordable, they are a great alternative to other high-end skincare brands. Inspired by Asia, their hydrating tissue masks, I love how super hydrating this is as it contains hyaluronic acid, making it an excellent moisturiser. It is also suitable for sensitive skin which is perfect for me. I think I’ll be re-visiting Boots very soon to stock up on these!

Algenist Concentrated Colour Correcting Drops – I selected this as a sample as I haven’t heard of the brand before and was curious to try it out. I just add a few drops of this to my favourite skincare and makeup product, turning it into a colour corrector itself (almost like a 2-in-1). Since coming back from Malta, I haven’t had to use my foundation at all and this is really good for me to just even out my skintone and to cover up any redness (tends to be around my nose area), and any imperfections. I think this works like my concealer but much better.

Caudalie x Jason Wu Beauty Elixir – I got this because I am almost due for a new face mist spray. I have had my eye on this for a while and the pretty design on the bottle caught my eye! I LOVE the smell (it is 100% natural fragrance) and you can use this prior putting on your makeup, or use it to set your makeup – you can pretty much use it anytime and anywhere like all face mists! It is inspired by the “elixir of youth” used by the Queen Isabelle of Hungary, then it’s good enough for me too 🙂 This will be coming with me everywhere I go.

Wei Brightening Mask – I selected this as another sample as I also haven’t heard of this brand before. The mask is infused with Molasses from Brown Sugar to hydrate and gently exfoliate your skin. I like the sound of it being gentle on your skin as my skin is quite sensitive, so anything harsh or aggressive irritates it. I am thinking of saving this for next week whilst I am away so I will let you know what it is like.

Sunday Riley Artemis Oil – I bought this after seeing the YouTube video by Pixiwoo and I’m so glad I got it because not only does it come in a beautiful box, my skin has been feeling amazing this past week thanks to the detoxifying oils to help give that healthy glow. It says it can be blended or layered with any face product, but so far I have been using it on its’ own before I go to bed as the oil is a little bit thicker than what I’m used to, and if I add anything else to my face I’m worried it will clog up my skin.

Ren Satin Perfection BB Cream – My friend got me a Ren skincare gift set last year and I absolutely loved it, so I chose this as my last sample. I really really like the feel of this on my skin and the colour matches! I have tried BB creams in the past and they either made my skin too pale or too shiny. This has SPF 15 which is a little low for me, so I’m still applying my usual SPF 50 sunscreen underneath it.

So, that is my beauty haul for this month! I hope you enjoyed it, I’d love to hear from you about your skin saviours are and what you recommend!

Love Heather x
