My August Favourites – Sweaty Betty.. Fitbit.. Instax.. and Beauty Products

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a good Summer. This is my first monthly favourites blog and I am hoping to do more of these in the future with a mixture of videos. They will feature a round-up of things – anything beauty, fashion, lifestyle and travel-related 🙂

This month in August, I have been working out more than usual and training for my next 10km run – which is in a weeks time (eek!). It is my 3rd 10km race in about 2 months, and to help motivate me more, I  wear Sweaty Betty gear.  I am loving their Summer range and this Yantra top is my go-to workout top. It’s a lightweight, semi-sheer top with a palm print effect on the back and the cool thing is, is that the print is on the inside to give you a faded effect. A yellow neon strip also runs vertically down the back and is split-twisted at the top for that cool look.

I am loving the warm weather lately so I use The Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray regularly throughout the day, as my skin can get really dehydrated and feel dry. I know I keep talking about this face spray but I love it so much! I use this everywhere I go whenever I want to re-hydrate my skin or to freshen up my makeup, and I love its cooling sensation on the skin. My everyday makeup is currently the “no-makeup” makeup look, and this Laura Mercier lipstick in Sensual is perfect for this. I purchased this last month and have found myself using it practically every single day! It’s the perfect nudey-pink colour and its creamy texture means it glides on easily.

I never EVER sleep with my makeup on and this Bioderma Sensibo H2O Micellar Solution is the best at taking my face off after every night. As the weather is warm and sometimes humid, I worry that my skin gets clogged easily and dust sticks to my sweaty face (nice!), so this is brilliant at removing all the impurities. It doesn’t dry my skin out like some makeup removers do and I like how it soothes my sensitive skin. The best thing about this particular bottle is the pump dispenser which is more hygienic and distributes the solution better rather than tipping it out onto my cotton pad.

I have been carrying around my Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede with me ever since my birthday last month. The smell isn’t too intense in the summer heat, one spray is enough!  This is part of a Jo Malone gift set which contains five of their bestsellers. The size (9ml) is perfect for travelling and to carry around in my small handbag.

This Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Miranda May from the Hot Lips Collection is beautiful for that summery look. It is a medium-dark coral colour with a matte finish, I love that it’s highly pigmented so one layer is enough to give your lips a pop of colour! Even though it’s a matte finish, it doesn’t dry your lips out and the colour is long-lasting.

I am so happy chokers have made a comeback! I loved wearing them when I was a teenager and I love that there is more of a variety now. I have a small collection of them which is slowly growing…this latest one is from Zara and I adore the diamante moon and star (and the tiny pearl of course). This came with another thin black wrap-around choker for the layered look. They both look great worn together or alone! I have been wearing these with a simple t-shirt or vest top.

I have always been into my exercise and working out and over the past six months, I have been wearing my Fitbit Flex. It has motivated me to do more exercise meaning I can eat more (especially cake!) and keep me active in general. My fiancé got me this Tory Burch Rose Gold bracelet for our date nights as it looks more elegant than the black rubber strap it comes in. I love the colour and how it subtly holds my Fitbit tracker inside, whilst making me feel glam.

And lastly, my one and only Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera. This was a gift a few years ago along with some cute instax films, and it’s only been recently that I have started using it a lot! To me it’s kind of nostalgic, using a polaroid to capture the moments and then seeing the pictures straightaway – I love watching the pictures develop with that vintage look.

I hope you enjoyed this blog and would love to hear what your favourites are this month! Love Heather x
