If you have followed me at the start of my blog, you will know I’m a big believer in looking after your skin and I’m always on the look out for the next new skin hero. Back in August I posted my hydration collection where I talked about some of the products I had back then to help me prepare for my wedding next year (eek!).
I have armed myself with some of the best skincare products to help banish dry skin for the colder months ahead, there are so many good products around that caters for pretty much every skin-type and to give you that beautiful glow. My skin tends to get dry quite easily which in turn makes it look dull, dehydrated, and crying out for some TLC. I really do think these products has helped combat my dry skin over the last few months, and has also helped improve my complexion and the staying-power of my makeup. To help rescue your complexion and give you that radiant glow all year round, keeping your skin clean and hydration is the key and it’s never too late to start a good skincare routine.
Lancôme Galatéis Douceur – Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid 400ml, £35 – I tend to use less of the Bioderma Micellar Water around this time of the year as I don’t feel it has enough hydrating properties to keep my skin soft and nourished. Instead, I use my trusty Lancome Cleanser (this is probably my sixth 400ml bottle!) as it removes all traces of my makeup leaving my skin feeling soft and clean. It’s milky formula contains papaya and pineapple extract so it’s super gentle on the skin.
Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Scrub 125ml, £11 – This was featured in my October Favourites 2016 as it’s the best
scrub/cleanser by far. It’s so good that I have also noticed my Fiance using it, and he is usually quite fussy! It’s suitable for both men and women with sensitive skin and doesn’t contain any parabens (preservatives that are used in personal care), and leaves my skin feeling fresh and super clean every time I use it.
LOTIONS & MASKS
Etude House Brightening Essence Lotion – Ok so I have a slight obsession with brightening skincare as I just love the look of healthy glowy skin. I got my Dad to pick me up another bottle of this recently as my parents were in Hong Kong. Etude is a popular Korean brand and this cream is from the Pearl Aura range. It is lightweight.
YSL Moisture Glow 40ml, £34 – I received a small sample of this and I have never used YSL creams before, just their makeup. It goes on like a dream and a little goes a long way. I apply it prior to putting on my makeup and it seems to make it look better and last longer. It is super lightweight and feels very hydrating on the skin, locking in moisture that my skin craves.
Clarins Hydra Quench Cream 30l – I have always loved using Clarins and this cream mask came as part of a gift set. This mask is very hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky smooth as it contains hyaluronic acid. I just apply it all over the face and leave for fifteen minutes before removing it with my Bobbi Brown Tonic.
Garnier Moisture Bomb Face Sheets £1.49 per sheet – I have been raving about these masks since Summer and I still can’t get over how affordable they are, they are just as good as my other high-
end masks. Each sheet is enriched with pomegranate extract and hyaluronic acid, making them the ultimate super hydrating masks around. They are so easy to use and not fiddly to put on which some masks can be. I love how cooling it feels against the skin and it is gentle on sensitive skin.
Bobbi Brown Face Tonic 200ml, £ 22 – This is my favourite toner and I wonder how I managed without it before! I love the smell and how soothing it feels on the skin. My skin feels clean and fresh, it’s gentle on the sensitive skin and it doesn’t contain alcohol.
Avene Hydrating Serum 30ml, £13 – I’ve always liked Avene products and this serum is intense yet suitable for even the most sensitive skin. It’s hydrating and I apply a small amount onto the face before I put my makeup on. I like how non-greasy it feels and it absorbs into my skin instantly.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lipbalm 13oz, £10 – Although this has SPF15 I only use this just before I go to sleep as I like how it keeps my lips hydrated throughout the night. It’s quite rich and I love the smell.
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate Oil 30ml, £37 – I’ve just applied this onto my skin as we speak as I tend to use face oils just before I go to sleep so it can work it’s magic. You only need a few drops for your face and it doesn’t leave a greasy-feel on the skin. I love the way my skin looks in the morning after using this as I have noticed it looks brighter and smoother. It’s 99% natural ingredients so it’s suitable for sensitive skin.
Artemis Sunday Riley Hydroactive Cellular Facial Oil 30ml, £60 – I purchased this a while ago after watching one of my favourite YouTubers rave about this. I have been using this every night for about two weeks until I got the Kiehls Midnight Recovery, where they are now both on a weekly rota. It is the most expensive out of this lot but it’s been so good to my skin that I haven’t had to wear foundation because of how much my skin has improved. It really does give you that “glow from within” due to its detoxifying oils. I now only wear foundation on date nights with my beau, or when I am meeting friends for lunch. The oil is slightly thicker than my Kiehls one, I’d say 2 drops is more than enough. The only thing I would say is that I dislike the smell…..! It’s unique and overpowering for me however, I have kind of got used to it and the great results outweigh this.
So this is my current collection that I am using, I hope you found it useful. I would love to hear from you about what your favourite product is for this season!
